Audio Equipment that just works
I have owned and sold a lot of audio stuff, be it old synths, new synths, stringed instruments, preamps, mics, software etc. Among all those piles of gear there are some machines that have never let me down and just work. Here is my personal hitlist of gear with little “wow” but lots of “do!”. 1.Shure SM7B mic - its forgiving to pops and distortion, almost every singer...

News of the Year
I have been found lacking in the news department, instead resorting to reposting of GIFs and taking pictures of synths. So this is atonement. BIG NEWS 1. I got married. This is her Tumblr. Its about fashion moodboards and has all the colors that are missing from my blog. Go ahead and follow her, your inbox could use some femenine input. 2. I have written a score and exit music for a short film,...

Just married
I got married to this beautiful woman on the last days of 2011. Now I am already back on the road to write music for the theatre and miss her madly.

All day, every day.
Unlike traditional sketches, I aim to develop interactions, including a highly unaccompanied linearity that juxtaposes all notions of influential themes. My latest piece begins with a rather tense ‘chord-study’, before symbolically transforming the existing poly-virtuosic material into a more poly-soloistically-modernistic state, a process I term...

Let it be
I was working all morning on a track that I thought was almost finished and just needed polishing. Four hours later I had muted the original voices and recorded 10 new layers of instruments. CMD+Q and no, I don’t want to save that. As not to be frustrated, I opened a different track, cut out one minute, added some Echoes and happily printed the result. I love throwing stuff away. Only in...

Silent Way Sync Racks for Ableton Live (AU)
Expert Sleepers Silent Way is a great tool for using a modular synth with your computer. It gets even easier once you make use of Ableton’s rack system. I have compiled two Ableton Live Racks for use with Ableton Live for you to use and adapt. One is used to Start/Stop/Clock/Reset a hardware sequencer such as Pressure Points/Brains. The other is a bunch of timesynced LFOs (SINE, COS, SAW,...

WatchWatch
iambriangreen: I was sent these modular sounds from Hainbach and i processed them in my setup. Here is a video clip of me processing the sounds, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0OYi66Kpik Brian made a beautiful noisescape out of the files I sent him. Hit him up with some of your recordings, I think he is still up for new noises. You can download my original sounds here. All loops are...
