After slaving days and days over old tracks, I decided to simply make something new. Here is a snippet of a track I started working on last night - its a headphone mix and needs a few more hours of work, both arrangement and mixwise, but I like it enough to share it here.
As a sidenote - I am not in my studio at the moment, so this track is free of outboard synths. A real change of working style for me, as I prefer writing electronic music using lots of dusty old synths. But Aalto keeps me satisfied enough not to long for my Rolands. That synth has a great rough tone to it and is amazingly fun not play (speaking in Enovoice).
Our Playground is a suicidal getaway love ballad, set to sparse Fender Rhodes and subbass. Originally written for a play, where it was sung by an actress who had shot herself in the head before. Still, I find it very hopeful.
I posted it a few weeks ago, but now I created a promo via Soundclouds new social unlock feature. If you haven’t already, have a listen and a free download.
