Let it be

I was working all morning on a track that I thought was almost finished and just needed polishing. Four hours later I had muted the original voices and recorded 10 new layers of instruments. CMD+Q and no, I don’t want to save that.

As not to be frustrated, I opened a different track, cut out one minute, added some Echoes and happily printed the result.

I love throwing stuff away. Only in one out of ten cases I get positive results when going beyond the original idea. Its hardly worth the wasted energy. When I get back to the first track tonight, I will also just edit and echo.

Its been a long time since I wrote with pen and paper - looking at this score by Terry Riley makes want to get back to the bars.
